There are many benefits to obtaining a professional driver education because you should know the rules of the road and be able to handle your vehicle under any type of road condition, weather or situation. Any person who wants to operate a motor vehicle in Australia needs to carry a valid driver’s licence. In order for anyone to legally do operate a motor vehicle in Queensland that they need to pass a written test and then take a road test.
Queensland’s Graduated Licensing System
Every new driver is required to complete their driver education through the graduated licensing system that is in place for all drivers. Each stage of the graduated licensing program requires a certain amount of driving hours before a driver becomes fully licensed.
At each stage of the licensing system the driver must take and pass a test. With each test that is presented, a driver must meet the requirements, pass the test and then operate under prescribed responsibilities. Tests are booked on strict timelines, so if you are late for a test you will be required to reschedule it.
While plenty of people think that they are best suited to teach their children how to drive, there are many advantages over having a professional driving instructor do the teaching instead of trying to do it all yourself.
Here are a few advantages you might not have considered:
Good Driving Habits
A professional driver education is a good option for drivers who have no experience with driving at all because when drivers first begin they should be taught to drive in a safe and professional way.
Parents may impart their own bad driving habits onto their children without even realizing it.
Parents may also make their children feel nervous when they are trying to teach them how to drive.
A driving instructor has a course outline that they stick to in order to teach new drivers all of the steps that they need to learn to have a good foundation to become a great driver.
Shorter gaps between licensing stages
The graduated licensing system requires that a person spend a certain amount of hours (which must be logged) before they can move to the next licensing stage.
If a person works with a driving instructor they can reduce the amount of logged time.
Many learning drivers are nervous about taking their practical driving test, but this nervousness can be dispelled with a pre-test assessment.
This is where a professional driving instructor will take you out for a practice test to identify any areas that might compromise your chances of passing your driving test.
For those who have previously taken a test and failed, a pre-test assessment can restore that confidence and help a person to pass their road test.
Learn to Drive Defensively
When you take professional driver education you will be prepared for a wide variety of unforeseen situations. Defensive driving is an important part of driver education and helps inexperienced drivers to read other drivers on the road.
Defensive driving helps drivers to predict certain situations and avoid them in order to avoid serious injury or death.
Improving your driving
You may already be a fully licensed driver, but there is always room for improvement. Advanced driver training is a good tool to assist you in becoming a better driver. You are probably unaware of your bad habits and how they can affect your driving.
A few professional driving lessons can help you to reaffirm the importance of good driving skills and help you if you are required to retest for your licence.
